Brother Dr. Arthur E. Doctor, Jr. was born in Charleston, South Carolina, and attended Buist Academy for Advanced Studies. At the age of 14, his family relocated to Richmond, VA where he graduated as valedictorian from Open High School. In August of 2006, Bro. Dr. Doctor matriculated into Clemson University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in History. He also holds a Master of Science in Higher Education Administration from Florida State University and Doctor of Education from The University of Georgia.
During his time at Clemson, Bro. Doctor was actively involved on campus highlighted by his initiation into Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated through the Pi Alpha chapter on November 10, 2007. Throughout his 16 years of continuous service to the fraternity, Brother Doctor has held numerous positions at the chapter, district, regional, and national levels. Currently, he serves as the Southern Region College Brothers Affairs Chairman and Vice President of the Omicron Iota Lambda chapter. He is also Life Member #17176.
In his professional life, Bro. Dr. Doctor has worked over 10 years in higher education, holding positions at multiple institutions. Presently, he serves as Dean of Students at Claflin University. Additionally, he is an active member of several civic and professional organizations, including the Clemson Black Alumni Council, National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, and the Association of Fraternity & Sorority Advisors.
